How we approach the work
Environmental noise assessment must represent the relevant source and receiver conditions. NoiseLab combines measurement, time and frequency analysis, field observations and, where needed, modelling to distinguish contributions and support decisions.
01
Typical situations
- Industrial, commercial, service and leisure activities.
- Outdoor plant, HVAC, ventilation, pumping and generators.
- Road, rail and other transport infrastructure.
- Construction sites and temporary activities.
- Complaints and comparison of operating and shutdown conditions.
02
Assessment elements
- Definition of representative periods and operating conditions.
- Measurements at the receiver and, where useful, near sources.
- Separation and classification of relevant events.
- Analysis of tonal and impulsive components and time variation.
- Integration of meteorological information where applicable.
03
From measurement to decision
- Assessment against the applicable environmental-noise framework or agreed criteria.
- Identification of uncertainty and comparison limitations.
- Support in ranking dominant sources.
- Definition of operational, construction or monitoring measures.
